Ok, I think this post will take the longest time to prepare. Today is September 27, 2016 and I will be posting this prior my departure from Indonesia for my exchange with AIESEC!
Background
First thing first, let's talk about the history on why going exchange to Pilsen. Last summer 2015, as I mentioned in my very first post, I was supposed to go exchange to Seoul, South Korea. But due to some circumstances, I didn't get to go. So, I searched a new project for winter 2016. This time, I planned to go to Europe. Most of the reason at the time was because winter in Europe=snow! Well, it snows in South Korea, too, but well... :)
I am accepted!
For almost 2 weeks, I applied for a project called Edison Project in Pilsen, Czech Republic. At that time, it was the only project that match well with my schedule. It was the first project I applied for winter.
I wait for the email, and by the time I surrendered and intended to apply another project, I got the email from Jindřiška to set the time for interview! So happy! So we set the time, then we did the interview at late afternoon gmt+7. It went well and she told me the result would be the next day. I thought it would come out with in 24hrs, but no! In the morning, I received an email stated that I am accepted in the project! Thank God :) Never thought that in 2016 I'll be visiting Europe and for going exchange!!
Preparation
So, from October to November, I prepared all of documents needed to apply visa. Yes, there's another important things to do. I needed to carefully plan and prepare every single details, including the air tickets, the invitation letter, the insurance, etc.
Also, after visa, another things to prepare is what I will bring during exchange. Winter clothes and shoes and accessories are the must, since I live in Indonesia and we don't experience winter here. Then, I need to have Indonesian flag, some souvenirs, traditional clothes, foods, and presentations that I have prepared beforehand.
I bought most of my souvenirs in Malioboro, Jogjakarta on mid-October. There, you may see lots of souvenirs up to the point that you don't know which one to buy! Looks like you have to bring your firmest determination if you don't want to be tempted by all of the interesting products there :p
And I am ready to go!
More Updates!
Now is January 15th, 2016 so it's blinks away from the big adventure! I got my visa and the tickets are ready. Oh, maybe I can post something about my preparation for visa later :D
