Hi all!
I made the draft for this post since last January, but I just didn't have a motivation to finish writing it :p Nowadays, I have more free time now since I finish my school and did my thesis defense (yeah!), so writing posts on my blog is one of the things I want to do.
Anyway, this post is about food that I tried during Prague and Krakow trip last christmas vacation. I took photos of the interesting food I tried there, and seriously, you need to try these food! They're awesome :)
1) TrdelnÃk (chimney cake) chocolate
I visited Prague Christmas market during the Prague trip, and there were many food stalls there. I remembered that there were several stalls which sold trdelnik. I must agree that this is a must food we need to try in Prague. It's super good!
2) Roasted chestnut
Another food in Prague, or snack so to speak.. It's better to eat the nut while it is hot, or warm, because it's easier to chew it during that time.
3) Pork pierogi
I did a little bit of research on the most popular food to eat in Krakow, and this is one of them. As you see in the picture, it is a dumpling. I ate this in a restaurant near Wawel Castle. These pierogi are soooooo good <3 I want to go to Krakow once more just to eat this food.
4) Oscypek (smoked cheese from salted sheep milk)
There was also a Christmas market in Krakow, at the Market Square. I saw one stall with people waiting in line, and it was quite a long line. I thought: hmm, it must be a delicious food, so I tried to buy one just to taste it. Overall, Oscypek is tasty and salty. If you like cheese, like me, I think you should try it.
5) Zapiekanka (baguette, this is 1/3 of the whole portion)
I was waiting for my bus from Krakow bus station to Prague, and I bought this as my (early) lunch. Actually, the biggest reason I bought this was because I was just curious about it. Moreover, just like pierogi, zapiekanka is one of the food that we should try in Krakow. Well, I think it is good, but it's not really my favorite, though.
6) Obwarzanek (polish pretzel)
Honestly, I saw so many people selling this kind of pretzel everywhere in Krakow (mainly near the bus/train station). That was the reason I tried this.
7) Golonka (stewed pork knuckle)
Oh God, this is a big beautiful portion of pork! I was so happy to eat this at the Christmas market in Krakow. A little bit expensive, but it is worth to try!
8) Kiełbasa (sausage)
Another delicious food I ate at the Christmas market in Krakow! No need for words, you know what you will taste just by looking at the photo below *drooling*
9) Makowiec (poppy seeds cake)
I was really fascinated by the colors of the cake. Overall, the cake was okay but not really my favorite.
