Whoa, it has been almost a year since I went to Hong Kong and only now have I finished writing this post! I went to Hong Kong as a short trip back in November 2018 during my flight from Jakarta to Amsterdam with Cathay Pacific. In 18 hours, I tried to see many things Hong Kong can offer.
My journey began in the morning around 7 am. The plane landed safely on Hong Kong International Airport and after that I went straight to the arrival area. After a quick preparation (washed my face, put a little bit make up, etc.), I filled in my entry card and passed through the immigration control. Yes! Hong Kong here we go!
For this trip, I used Airport Express Travel Pass with one free ride with Hong Kong Express, which I used for my way back to the airport later on. To reach the city centre, I used the combination of bus and then MTR Tung Chung line.
Left: My travel pass; Right: View from the bus, so nice to see some hilly landscapes after getting used to the flat landscape of the Netherlands :)
My first destination should satisfy my hunger, so I went to Tim Ho Wan. For those who don't know, you should go to this restaurant to taste some really good dimsum worthy of 1 michelin star, without robbing your bank account! I went to the branch in Olympian City. Arrived there a little bit early (well, by 1 or 2 hours lol) but I was afraid of not getting a table, since the restaurant is so famous that it is normal to wait in line to get a table. Anyways, I did get a table, easily (duh!) and ordered three kinds of dishes: congee with pork and preserved eggs, vermicelli rolls stuffed with beef, amd steamed pork dumplings with shrimp. They costed HKD 85 or less than 10 Euro including mineral water and the pu-erh tea. Not bad at all!
After Tim Ho Wan, I went around the city. Forgive me for this, but I absolutely forgot the order of places I visited at that time, so ashamed!!
Canton Road, on the way to the pier for taking a ferry to Hong Kong Island
Water! Ferry ride!
In Hong Kong Island, I went to try the Central-Mid-Levels escalator.

Gorgeous panoramic view of Hong Kong
A day in Hong Kong is not complete without visiting a night market and munching some of the street food there!
Overall, I had a really good time in Hong Kong. I definitely want to visit Hong Kong later in the future and explore there for a longer time. Until then Hong Kong!
